On the road

I was traveling on the Gemini bridge, enjoying the slow swaying motion of the bike to the bumps on the road, i saw two couples riding. One couple appeared to be from a middle class background and the other was from well to do background, both were Muslims and both the women were wearing "burqa". From now i will use F1 for middle class and F2 for the well to do back ground. F1 was wearing a ordinary burqa, no decoration, plain and simple, the head scarf was flying loosely around. F2 in contrast was wearing a beautiful one, with good embroidery work and the head scarf tightly tied & and her husband was well dressed; neatly pressed shirt, pant and bright shining polished shoes.
The moment the bikes were crossing each other, F2 kept her hand pointing to her head while looking the F1, actually implying that the scarf is loose tie it properly, immediately F1 re-tied her scarf.

I had two question in mind
1) Unless F1 was told that scarf was flying around by F2, she was not thinking about it and her husband did not bother much about it.
2) Very notion of the "burqa" is not to attract attention but wearing a beautiful burqa is an antithesis to the whole idea.

Getting the token for travel

I had to drop my sister at koyembedu bus stand on sunday, she had to catch a bus to bangalore. All the bus going to Bangalore was full and after enquiring found that the tokens for boarding the bus was available at a counter. It was 8:30 pm in the night, we were standing a queue which already had 30 persons.

Tokens was not immediately issued, instead it was issued based on the extra buses which were arranged and was available at the bus stand. After a wait 30 minutes the tokens were issued &the queue moved fast. After some tokens were issued, the issuing of the token was stopped.

The queue length has increased and it now included more than a hundred people. The next bus arrived 10:00 which was ac bus, new announcement was stating a seperate queue need to be formed for the AC bus. Now a additinal queue was formed and a hustle between the groups who had stood for 2 hours to get the ticket and the new group.

i had to pushed my self to the window of the counter, my hand was one of the many hands which was holding the money and asking for the token. Luckily got one and the climax was got over.

After sister was seated inside the bus, took the direct bus to velachery. It was heavily crowded, no space to stand, sweat pouring out & occusional fights, i used to travel like this many many years before to college and school.
