To my friend

After four years I meet her, wondered whether she will be the same. She got married and now doing management course. I phoned her the day before, she replied arrive at the gate and she will direct me further. She added she was going to movie and was having class the next day morning, my another friend stated there is a party and because of the party no class will be held because of the party. His reply made me decided the get together will be short.

After a hectic travel i reached the designated location and call up my friend , as promised she asked me to meet her in the reception . I dropped my friend and walked the way to reception. I meet her, she had the same look as four years before, which i did not expect . She took me on a short trip around meet few of her friends, words started to flow more smoothly then it were before.

I had informed her about my friend, she was not able to find any such. She requested me for an introduction and i introduce her to my friend and why his name was not familiar he was introvert. The initial decision of having a short talk now stretched to longer time we continue for another one hour we hit most of the topic. It was almost time for another appointment , said "good bye" to her and i was on my way.

It felt good talking to an old friend and to find people unchanged by time.

[Fwd: Thank you all....]

This is mail sent by my colleague who completed 2 years today and his
first job too ..

July 11th 2005, the day i meet you all. These two pleasant years will be in my memory for ever. My greatest pal Athreya, who had been my team mate for more than a year and a half . I just enjoyed every moment of his company, as a great friend, team mate and now as my room mate. My most favorite Prof, I just love calling you "professor".... and also i enjoy when u call me"Worst fellow". And I love troubling, cracking jokes and playing with you and still I don't know why. Ever smiling Shinoj, The DMA specialist haha... I will remember your soft voice and how u bluff barani. Some times when i look at the chair behind me, i feel missing u. The funniest Pradeepreddy.................................... my partner while doing FIR filter in training session and even Prof was with us, scaring us both using malloc, calloc, dsp_buff, data_buff.. First guy to write code directly in integrated version and your optimised code matching complier generated code(i know how trickily you copy the complier generated code and put it in your workspace )... Hey reddy your snacks are still here in your place, you can take it when ever you want.... The most helpful Sumalatha, she was there when i had SCARY cod_amr to code, helping me to fix my bug. I was under lot of pressure while coding that, your presence at that time was invaluable... I simply admire your patience and dedication to work.... Acrobate Reader
(satish prabu) highly talented and self motivated guy. Mostly i have seen him reading through some IEEE papers. Has a lot of knowledge on speech and mathematics. Thanks for all the advices that you gave me buddy... i am very grateful..... Deepa, we had our written test on the
same day and i know her from then. We both like teasing each other... For the past two days deepa is in great form. :-) Very clever when it comes to managing things. She knows how to get things done easily, i should learn that from you. Swaminathan calm and silent candidate, When
ever i logging in LAN messenger, he would log out.. hahahaha... :-D .... Mr.Pokiri pongal.... matching dress, nice shoes trade mark for him... Great dancer and very bad singer hahaha... Baby boi(palani), hmmmm.... what ever you want to know about company, you can ask him. He ll have all the latest news of the company. Harris, my current project mate, there is one common feature between us, can u guess? lol... Last but not the least............................. The one and only DR. Debugger Dinesh, instead of reporting me to fix the bug in my module, he would fix and tell me what the bug is... A guy with lot of patience and concentration. Certainly i have to learn how to sit in a place for hours and work. Still amazes me how fast you can fix a bug.

And now to my Great Gurus.... Kadhir sir and prakash sir, I know how much effort you have put in all of us, thanks a million. So much we learned from you. you both are our role models at work.
My friendly TL, Selvaraj sir, he knows my strength and weakness better than me. He had given me lot of freedom at work, which gave me a opportunity to think and implement different designs. Thank you sir. and sorry for all late submissions..

I am very thankful to all. All your presence has made a big difference in my life.

Love you all
Madan

The contrast

Last week I went on tour to Hyderabad and much to the disturbance of the co passengers we talked and talked , our topic shifted from one plane to another and arguments danced. One gentleman who was having his nap, followed our conversation. Later on he involved himself in our discussion. I expect all the wisdom of old age to be upon us preaching how great were the olden time but he spoke with an attitude towards the various aspect of life which was quiet surprising to hear, his ethic was based on the following line, follow Ramayana / Mahabarat for their moral value rather trying to prove there chronological existence.

He was AIIMS graduate of 1970 batch served his entire life as doctor. His daily routine involves going to villages and provide medical service free of cost to the villagers. He has his own private service to support himself and extra money goes for the medicine. He was given a car by his daughter to enable him to visit various villages. We had a good time discussion various ideologies, next morning we bade farewell to each other.

I visited my friend at the ISB campus on sunday, meet her after four years. Going around the campus I meet few people and each gave a short glimpse of the life in ISB. Then came a short session with my colleagues brother who gave his own motivation. The crux is about "power" , "money" and "career".

Now the contrast "The doctor" and "The ISB". The doctor choose "service to society" as his first motto and and is a happy man by his own standards . ISB choose "service to myself" and they are happy too .

Had i not meet the doctor i would not have visualized this contrast and it has made me ponder why ???????
